Kiwi country-rock artist Triggar Happy is dropping his latest single "Crank It Up" today, a rowdy, high-energy track blending heartbreak, horsepower and a healthy dose of escapism, before taking it straight to the stage at Auckland's Jolene Bar tonight.
The release continues a run of hard-hitting tracks from the Waikato-raised musician, following previous releases including "Zombies," "Cowboy Power Rock," "Sundown" and "I Rock 'N' Roll."
From Six Farms to Full-Time Music
Triggar Happy's path into music wasn't a conventional one. Before committing to music full-time, he spent years running six farms in the Waikato, a background that arguably shows up in the grounded, no-nonsense energy that runs through his catalogue.
Since making the leap into music, he's built a genuinely impressive track record. Two of his albums, Talk Is Cheap and Love Loyalty Respect, both reached number one on the Top 20 Aotearoa Album Charts. He was also named Impact Artist of the Year at the 2025 Independent Music Awards.

Auckland fans have a rare chance to hear the new track performed live on release day itself. Triggar Happy will play with three band members at Jolene Bar in Auckland tonight, 18 September, from approximately 8 to 9pm.
The performance is free to attend, offering what's described as the track in its "natural habitat," loud, live and built to get people moving.
