Chocolate lovers and coffee obsessives across Auckland have a date for the diary, the Chocolate and Coffee Festival 2026 is set to take over the Viaduct Events Centre for two full days later this month.

Running from 26 to 27 September, the festival bills itself as New Zealand's biggest celebration of chocolate, coffee and all things indulgent, bringing together the country's top chocolatiers, coffee roasters and artisan food producers under one roof.

What Visitors Can Expect

Rather than a single-focus food event, the festival is built around variety, giving attendees the chance to sample everything from handcrafted chocolate to expertly brewed coffee across a curated lineup of exhibitors.

Festival organiser Shaughan Woodcock said the event is designed to appeal to a genuinely broad range of visitors.

"This is New Zealand's ultimate playground for chocolate and coffee lovers," Woodcock said. "There is something for everyone and is a lovely way to spend the weekend."

That range extends from casual visitors after an enjoyable afternoon out, to serious enthusiasts looking to seek out specialty, small-batch products they might not otherwise come across.

Who's Exhibiting

Past editions of the festival have featured a genuine mix of established and boutique producers. Exhibitors typically span everything from artisan bean-to-bar chocolate makers producing single-origin bars sourced from specific regions, to well-known confectionery brands offering handmade treats, alongside specialty coffee roasters showcasing their own blends and brewing techniques.

Ticketing Options for Different Visitors

The festival has built in some flexibility on pricing, with specific ticket categories designed to make the event accessible to a wider range of attendees.

Special ticket pricing is available for:

  • Seniors (65+)
  • Students

Organisers are encouraging early booking, describing it as the best way to secure a spot at what has become one of Auckland's most in-demand food events on the calendar.

Why This Event Matters for Auckland's Food Scene

Events like this offer a valuable showcase opportunity for New Zealand's smaller, independent chocolate and coffee producers, giving them direct access to a large, engaged audience they might struggle to reach through retail alone. For visitors, it offers a rare chance to sample a wide cross-section of the country's artisan food and beverage scene in a single weekend, rather than seeking out individual producers across the city.

With the event returning to the popular Viaduct Events Centre location and building on its reputation as one of Auckland's standout foodie weekends, organisers appear confident this year's festival will draw the same enthusiastic crowds seen in previous years.
