India have delivered a commanding victory over Pakistan at the 2026 Women’s T20 Asia Cup, bowling their rivals out for their lowest-ever T20 international total before completing the chase in just 8.4 overs.

Dubai, 6 September 2026: India Women have continued their unbeaten run at the Women’s T20 Asia Cup after defeating Pakistan by seven wickets in a remarkably one-sided encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Pakistan were dismissed for just 55 runs in 18.1 overs, their lowest total in the history of women’s T20 internationals.

India then reached 57 for three in only 8.4 overs, completing the chase with 68 balls remaining.

The victory ensured India finished the Group A stage unbeaten and at the top of the group, having already secured their place in the semi-finals.

Pakistan start well before dramatic collapse

Pakistan captain Fatima Sana won the toss and elected to bat.

Initially, the decision appeared reasonable.

Openers Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar put together 27 runs, giving Pakistan a steady start during the opening five overs.

But once India found the breakthrough, the innings fell apart quickly.

Shafali Verma dismissed Muneeba for 13 before Shree Charani struck twice in the sixth over.

Gull Feroza departed without scoring and Shawaal Zulfiqar was removed for 14, leaving Pakistan at 29 for three.

From there, Pakistan never recovered.

They slipped to 32 for four and then 45 for seven as India’s spin attack took complete control of the contest.

Only two Pakistan batters reached double figures: Shawaal with 14 and Muneeba with 13.

Shree Charani and Prema Rawat tear through Pakistan

India’s young spin attack was the difference.

Shree Charani finished with outstanding figures of 3 wickets for 7 runs, while Prema Rawat collected 3 for 9.

Deepti Sharma was equally economical, taking 2 for 5.

Between them, Charani, Rawat and Sharma claimed eight wickets while conceding just 21 runs.

Pakistan were eventually bowled out for 55 in the 19th over.

Charani was named Player of the Match for her performance.

Speaking after the victory, she also highlighted the preparation within India’s spin-bowling group, saying the slow bowlers discuss their plans together before matches and concentrate on executing those plans on the field.

Pakistan set an unwanted record

The 55 all out was not simply a poor batting performance.

It became Pakistan Women’s lowest-ever total in T20 international cricket.

Their previous lowest was 63, also against India, during the 2012 Women’s Twenty20 Asia Cup in Guangzhou.

Fourteen years later, India lowered that mark even further in Dubai.

India suffer an early wobble

With only 56 required for victory, the result appeared almost inevitable.

Pakistan, however, did manage to create a brief moment of uncertainty.

Captain Fatima Sana produced an impressive spell with the ball and claimed all three Indian wickets.

She finished with figures of 3 for 17 from three overs.

India’s top order therefore did not have everything its own way despite the tiny target.

But there simply were not enough runs for Pakistan to defend.

Harmanpreet and Deepti finish the job

Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur steadied the chase and remained unbeaten on 18, while Deepti Sharma finished unbeaten on 12.

India reached 57 for three after just 52 deliveries, sealing a seven-wicket victory.

Harmanpreet finished proceedings emphatically, hitting the winning runs with a six.

India’s dominance over Pakistan continues

The result also extended India’s strong recent record against Pakistan.

It was India’s fifth consecutive victory over Pakistan across formats, adding another chapter to one of cricket’s most closely watched rivalries.

But while India-Pakistan matches attract enormous attention, the competitive gap between the two women’s teams was clear on Saturday.

Pakistan managed to create some pressure during India’s chase, particularly through Fatima Sana, but the damage had already been done during their batting innings.

Pakistan mentor responds after heavy defeat

Pakistan mentor Wahab Riaz remained confident despite the record-low total and heavy defeat.

He attributed the batting collapse partly to pressure and poor decision-making and maintained his belief that Pakistan remain capable of competing strongly in the tournament.

Pakistan’s campaign is not over.

They had won their opening match before facing India and now turn their attention to Hong Kong, whom they are scheduled to play on Monday, 7 September, at the same venue.

India head into semi-finals unbeaten

For India, the bigger picture looks considerably brighter.

They completed their Group A programme with three wins from three matches and have secured a semi-final berth.

The performance against Pakistan also demonstrated the depth of India’s bowling attack.

Even after Pakistan managed a reasonable opening partnership, India’s spinners were able to completely change the match within a handful of overs.

India’s batting was not flawless, with three wickets falling while chasing only 56, but the experienced Harmanpreet and Deepti ensured there was never a serious danger of an upset.

A statement victory for India

India beating Pakistan in women’s cricket is not itself unusual given their historical advantage in the fixture.

What made Saturday’s result significant was the scale of Pakistan’s collapse.

Being dismissed for 55 established a new unwanted national T20I record, while India required fewer than nine overs to complete the chase.

For India, it was another convincing step towards the knockout stage.

For Pakistan, there is little time to dwell on the defeat. Their next match against Hong Kong now becomes an important opportunity to recover and keep their tournament campaign moving.
